MS Walker Tasting

It's that time of week once again, TASTING TIME! Please join MS Walker for a sampling of some of their offerings.

Coeur de la Reine- Sauvignon Blanc

These vines average 30 years in age and are meticulously tended by the family and green harvest practices all lend to limited yields and best quality fruit at harvest.Skin maceration for 60% of the cuvée for 6 hours, gentle pneumatic pressing, and a cool maceration for 7 days. Fermentation for 3-4 weeks followed by elevage in tank on the lees.

The nose offers an intense “fruit basket” dominated by citrus scents with a note of blackcurrant bud. In the mouth, all is suppleness and elegance. The final spicy note emphasizes the freshness and the generous length of this Touraine Sauvignon.

Lafage Miraflors- Grenache Gris Rosé

Benefiting from a warm, dry climate, the estate is farmed organically. Tangy, zippy scents of grapefruit and tangerine oil immediately waft from the glass of this bright rosé, with some currant and rhubarb tones in the back. The palate is light and easy, with a surprisingly soft impression, but then pithy citrus flavors pick up through the close and linger with medium-length intensity.

Violet Hill- Pinot Noir

Farmed in an expansive and well sheltered valley along the Rogue River and its tributaries, the Rogue AVA is mostly made up of high elevation sites in mountain country. Despite the ruggedness of the region, the weather is quite mild and warm in the summers making for concentrated and ripe fruit profiles. Fermented with native yeasts in small batch fermentations, the wine is a representation of the of the people and places that farm and vinify it.

Fragrant and pretty nose of rose petals, button mushrooms and wild raspberries. Medium-bodied, juicy and transparent, full of sweet red berry fruit, with fine tannins. Medium-bodied, with primary aromas of dark cherry, mocha and floral, that are echoed on the satiny palate, with a bright finish.

Broadside- Cabernet Sauvignon

Sourced from sustainably farmed, SIP certified vineyards in Paso Robles. Inviting warm aromas featuring notes of violets, pomegranate, herbes de Provence, cedar, and baker’s chocolate. A soft mouthfeel with supple and concentrated flavors of plum, cherry cola and blackberry pie filling, all supported by melting, dusty tannins. Pair with baked feta and plum tomatoes drizzled with olive oil and served over pasta.
